Brief Introduction:

Rhadi Bullard Ferguson
2004 Olympian in the Sport of Judo

Dear Friend:

I attended the Games of the XXVII Olympiad in Sydney, Australia as an alternate in the 100kg weight class in the sport of Judo for our country. I am a 1992 graduate of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. While there, I was a member of the National Honor Society, the football and track teams. I also received the U.S. Army Scholar Athlete Award, and both a High School Diploma and Certificate of Merit in recognition of my academic achievements.

I earned a full athletic (football) scholarship award to attend Howard University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1997. While there I was twice selected to participate in the Science and Engineering Mathematics Institute for Undergraduate Scholars, sponsored by the Office of Naval Research. I was also recognized as the first tri-athlete (football, wrestling, and track) at the University in approximately 20 years.

I was a resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1999 to 2000. Before that, I was employed as a Technical Sales Engineer for Texas Instruments - residing in Attleboro, Massachusetts and Anaheim, California. After my first year on the job, I was among approximately 2% of employees nominated to receive an "Outstanding Employee of the Year Award." Recently, I graduated from Howard University, earning a Master of Arts of Teaching Degree with a concentration in secondary education. I graduated with a 4.0 Grade Point Average.
